  • My name is Alexander Hamilton and I represent New York
  • I'm James Madison and I represent Virginia
  • We are here today to amend the Articles of Confederation, in light of event such as Shay's rebellion and calls for stronger central government

  • Not to mention states with a large slave population would be quite happy to gain some extra votes.
  • One thing we have to discuss is the issue of slaves being represented as full citizens, voting wise.

  • The Constitutional Convention, on September 17, 1787, gave birth to the American Constitution. The American Constitution helped solidify America's independent national identity and to this day is the cornerstone of most American values. It is still considered a near untouchable document that should have nothing removed from it, and only the most important things added to it. Any transgression against the Constitution is still enough to anger the American public to the point of rebellion and it is considered the line the Government can not cross.
