- Assef being the neighborhood bully, has sick and twisted beliefs like Hitler. When he gives him a Autobiography, Amir internally hates it but can't show it. He is more overwhelmed with guilt than the book.

- Amir overwhelmed with guilt, tries to push Hassan further away by framing him and getting him kicked out. This worsens their relationship

- As Amir begins to realize how bad Afghanistan has gotten, he finds himself at an orphanage. The director of the place shows him around and explained to him that there are so many kids that live in fear, trauma, and violence. They don't have a childhood.
