- Madam Mayor, we've confirmed an H1N1 virus outbreak in the community. Cases are rising quickly. We must activate our emergency plan.
- The Minister informs the mayor about the H1N1 outbreak. The mayor expresses concern and discusses notifying health facilities and the community.

- The discussion continues and the municipality has realised how serious this strain of the virus is and more information needs to be gained. The decision to make a public statement has been made and a group of researchers have been contacted to find more information.

- We have 250 confirmed cases of N1H1 in the hospital that were detected via Lab test. 150 cases are female patients, and 100 cases are male patients
- Ooh!!! We really have to attend to this matter ASAP before it gets out of hand. Some of affected patients in the ward are critically ill.

- In a home of a lower income family there is a elder grandfather that helps take care of his granddaughter after school, he is showing signs and symptoms of illness. He has a cough, wheeze and chest pain. His family has decided to take him to a Government hospital for treatment.

- The number of cases in the area has been increasing rapidly. The total number of confirmed cases from local health facilities stands at 529, with 41% of those being males from ages 25-40. The severity of the disease has varied from asymptomatic to severe, with severity increasing with age.
- Data is still being gathered on the possible sources, but 30% of these people have confirmed having travelled out of the country in the last 4 weeks or having a relative or friend who travelled.

- N1H1 is also known as Influenza A. If you have flu like symptoms it is important to seek medical attention immediately. A test using a throat swab can be done to confirm the presence of the virus and treatment can be administered. Research has show that early treatment can minimize symptoms by more than 40%
- This strains vaccine can be obtained at your local clinic hospital or private health care provider
- It has been confirmed by researchers that H1N1 is transmitted from person to person through respiratory droplets and contacting contaminated surfaces. It is recommended that to prevent the spread of H1N1, people must vaccinate against the virus, wash hands regularly, wear mask, isolate sick ones and avoid crowded spaces
- A news broadcast showing new information and the provision of a vaccine for this strain of N1H1. The information from the mixed method study has been fruitful and we are hopeful to see a drop in cases soon.
