- This is depicted in Persepolis through characterization, as the reader sees Satrapi suffering after her neighbor dies. Many kids experience bedwetting, nightmares, and more after experiencing something traumatic like this.

- Children growing up in war is something very common happening all over the world, including Ukraine, Palestine, Democratic of Republic of Congo, and even a few more countries! This is an experience so many kids are FORCED to go through, including children like Satrapi. War shapes a child's identity, trauma, and truth, in many negative ways.
