Caboto failed to find valuable resources and a route to Asia. But instead found massive amounts of cod from the coastal waters. As a result, many more Europeans came to fish in the area. This was a big discovery for Caboto because at the time fish was high-priced, and it was a limited resource in Britain.

Even though Caboto had lots of success on his voyage, that didn't mean it was easy. He and his crew faced numerous challenges. Harsh weather conditions made navigation a nightmare, disputes with his crew tightened relationships and the lack of food and nutrients led many sailors to die. The new and unusual environment affected them a lot.

Many First Nations tribes were wildly affected by Caboto's voyage and discovery. With all the commotion of fishing, tribes were getting diseases due to the Europeans and encountering conflict with them. It was so bad that the Beothuk went extinct, because loss of food and British imperialism. The British were also very ethnocentric towards the First Nations.
