- Linda: What is going on outside the Bureau of Indian Affairs??Sam: This is a protest organized by the American Indian Movement. AIM had gained popularity through their presence in sites such as vacant U.S. Naval buildings, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, and protests against police brutality. They fight for the rights of the Native Americans.
- Linda: Oh, I have never heard of AIM. Wait, were they the group that was attacked somewhere...Woundedd Knee I believe?Sam: Yes! They were unarmed, yet the US forces still attacked. Ever since then, they had had a bad reputation. Now, they are under scrutiny of the police department, armed forces, the government as a whole.

- Linda: Oh, that is very interesting yet unfortunate. What is their goal now?Sam: Well, right now they continue to protest against the rights of the Indigenous people. They had been working on the adoption of a United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People. They also work with job-training, and other projects concernning health and housing.
- Linda: Does this have anythinng to do with their religion?Sam: Partly, yes. The US government does not allow the indigenous people to practice their religious rituals and that is part of what they are fighting for. Whenever I come to these events, I always feel a spiritual element to it as well.
- Linda: That is very interesting. Thank you for giving me all of this insight, I am going to join the AIM and protest alongside them.Sam: You are welcome. I am going to come join you!Linda: That is a great aim, get it?Sam: Haha, I do!
