- Character vs. self The main conflict in this story is that Mr. Popper job season is over and now he is in debt. And to take carer of a lot of penguins is a big job. So now he has to find a solution to make money.

- Character traits forgetful, untidy. Mr. Popper is untidy because when he would come home from work he would have paint and bits of wallpaper hanging to his mustache. He is also forget full he would forget what the was doing. Once he painted three sides of a kitchen green and one side yellow.
