- Malvolio 'returns' a ring to Cesario from Olivia claiming that Cesario the the ring at her. Cesario plays along and says he won't accept the ring after he has given it to her even though Cesario is cognizant of the fact that he never gave a ring to Olivia."
- Act 2 Scene 5 (Olivia's garden)
- Maria, Sir Toby, Sir Andrew and Feste plot their revenge on Malvolio by forging a letter from Olivia confessing her feelings for him.
- Duke Orsino tells Cesario to be persistent in his assistance to pursue Olivia. Cesario tells him to accept her refusal as another woman (Viola) may be in love with him.
