- Climatologist visited Mariah and her mom last year, so they thankfully knew what to do to stop the erosion, they planted mangroves along the shore to buffer the waves during storms also they planted tons of vegetation to make the ground more stable and resistant

- Erosion is the action of surface processes (such as water flow or wind) that removes soil, rock, or dissolved material from one location on the Earth's crust and then transports it to another location where it is deposited.Soil is a complex mixture of minerals, organic matter and empty space filled to varying degrees with air and water.Sheetwash, unchannelled flow across a surface carriessuspended material away, and channels erode right through the soil layer,removing both fine and coarse material.all these are what contribute to their problem now they can enjoy their island home for years to come hopefully.
