- seen above, is the virginia Plans representative arguing that state representation should be based on population. the virginia plan was proposed by james madison to base representation in favor of bigger states. it was given this name because At the time Virginia was the biggest state. this also included a bicameral legislature.
- seen above is the new jersey plans representative arguing that state representation should be equal, no matter the population. The New Jersey plan was created by the small states. the basis of this idea was equal representation regardless of population. this plan advocated for a unicameral legislature. the plan would ultimately maintain governmental power but expand congretional power over states.
- seen above is the great comprimise. this comprimise ultimately saved the constituition and this country from civil war. this comprimies created a bicameral legislature comprimised of a House of Representatives and a Senate. The House of representatives was the lower level of government and would be based on representation by population. the upper levels called the Senate would bebased on equal representation.
