- t wasn’t exactly a lie for me either. I do like some composers. But tonight I cared more about how I looked, how I sounded, whether you would find me interesting. I thought you weren’t distracted by me at all.

- Distracted? I could barely focus. Every time you moved, I wondered if you were bored… or disappointed. I even put my glasses away because I didn’t want to look too serious. I suppose I was trying too hard.
- Maybe we both were. Maybe we were so busy trying to seem impressive that we forgot something simple , that we’re just two people on a first date. And maybe… that’s what makes this evening more real than the music itself.
