My name is John Lewis and I was born on February 21, 1940 in Troy, Alabama. I had a very fun childhood. As a child I have always loved preaching to family and friends. At the age of five I have always wanted to become a preacher.
I worked in my family's farm picking cottons. I enjoyed being on the farm with my chickens. That was my life as a kid and a farmer.
As a grew older I attended American Baptist College studying religion and philosophy.#160; I than later attended Fisk University, where I then later earned my Religion and philosophy degree.
During my time in college I had experience with racism. I was always motivated by Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks. That is where I got my motivation to become a motivational speaker.
I gave my speech in front of many on August 28, 1963. Where I was the voice of many African Americans that day. We were ready to march for jobs and freedom for our people. From this day foward I stated giving speeches more often.

As I grew older I became known as a recognized leader in the civil right movement. I was rewarded with a medal by our 44th president barack obama. The medal was known to be called "The Presidential Medal of Freedom."
