Wow! That sounds like I could seriously injure myself by performing maximal weight training. I should definitely stick to what my doctors told me about developing my strength in different ways such as focusing on my form and doing more skill building activities.
Absolutely! When you're older and your body has developed enough to where it is safe to strength train at maximal weight, then we can put that barbell to use!

STOP SON! Your growth plates are still developing! Lifting too heavy like that at your age can injure your joints and cause strains and sprains! Your tissues supporting your tendons and ligaments have not developed enough yet for you to be lifting that heavy!

That was especially harmful since you were not supervised by a coach or professional. Your strength will develop at its own rate when performing bodyweight movements and practicing skills. Just because you are not noticing immediate results does not mean it isn't working!
