A picture of Harrison appears and he is shown with the most and biggest handicaps. He is a wanted criminal suspected of trying to overthrow the government. He has spectacles  and headphones to dumb him down, a clown nose because he's "too handsome", and weights.
Ladies and Gentlemen~oh, sorry, excuse me...
Harrison Bergeron has escaped....
When George wonders what would happen if the "equality" system was disobeyed. Hazel supposes that if people broke the laws, society would fall apart. There would be war since having gifts would cause competition.

This "performance" is a sin against mankind. Maybe if we let dancers dance to the best of their abilities instead of weight them d-
In his story, Vonnegut criticizes the flawed notion that sameness solves problems. This notion comes from the false assumption that making everything identical creates equality. But to make something identical, one must choose a single mold to shape everyone with. And like how Hitler creating the Aryan society, the single mold disqualifies everyone that doesn't fit in. In Vonnegut's story, the ones that were too smart had to be in constant pain while the people with average intelligence got to live in comfort. This system also gives implication that equality comes is based on what a person is instead of the fact that equality comes from respecting someone as a human being. So in actuality, sameness creates a bigger prejudice than it creates equality as it is simply putting one way above the rest by forcing everyone to do the same.
