  • General Mier y Teran, was sent to observe the Anglo settlers. He found the following that concerned him: Anglos outnumbered Mexican 10-1, Texans were trading with the U.S, and they still had slaves. He suggested to the officials that they must regain a stronghold of the area.
  • The Battle of Velasco
  • The Law of April 6, 1830, took away most of the Texan's freedom. The Texans did not like this change.

  • The townspeople lead a march for their rights under the constitution. The soldiers arrested several Texans.
  • It's a matter of time before you all commit treason!
  • Arrested Texans including the lawyers, William B Travis and Patrick Jack, were released from prison. Unaware of the resolution, men went to the city of Brazoria in search of a cannon.

  • The Texans and the Mexicans fought. This was the first bloodshed between them. The Mexicans surrendered to the colonist.
