- June finds out that it wasn't Day to kill Metias, but it was Thomas who put the knife in his heart, along with the Republic purposely infecting people with this virus for one large experiment led by the Elector.
- June goes to Day's cell and attempts to get him out of his execution.
- Day goes back after he's healthy again to save his brothers, only to get caught, then has to kill Commander Jameson to keep his brothers and himself safe.
- Thomas confronts June of her rebellious acts against her own country, then he tries to capture her, only for Thomas to get shot by Day.
- June, Day, and Tess are now the Republic's most wanted criminals, and start to escape to the east.
- They make it beyond the border, and start a new life together on the other side of the war, still hidden because June must not be seen due to crimes she has committed against this side of the war.
