When the men wash up on Aeaea, Odysseus divides his men into two groups: an exploration party lead by Eurylochus, and a group that stays behind with Odysseus. While exploring, the men find Circe's home. Despite the very suspiciously calm lions and wolves surrounding her house, the explorers- with the exception of Eurylochus- decide to ask Circe to let them in.
"There is someone inside working at a loom and singing most beautifully; the whole place resounds with it, let us call her and see whether she is woman or goddess."

This woman is very nice. She's giving us food and entertaining us.
They don't know I drugged their food. They'll be vulnerable in no time!
When the men arrive, Circe takes them in and gives them a meal and entertainment. However, unbeknownst to the Achaeans, the food and wine were mixed with an elixir that makes them vulnerable to Circe's magic.

Soon enough, Circe turns the men into pigs with her wand and ushers them into a pigsty. Eurylochus, who sees this, runs back down to Odysseus' camp to tell him about what Circe did.
Oh no! I must warn Odysseus of the sorcery of this woman!
They fell for it! Heh heh!
