  • The book " The Feminine Mystique" was one of Betty Friedan's best selling books. The book gave millions of american women a voice. Women were angry with the limited gender roles that they had, so Betty wrote this book that helped spark general public activism for gender equality.
  • Betty Friedan's co-found the national organization for women. Just after 3 years of publishing Her book "The Feminine Mystique". She soon realized in order to support the women's voice their preference for equal rights. She teamed up with people from the Third National Conference of Commissions the unites states of women to formalize a new approval group. Friedan became their first president and started a chapter of public gathering and protest discrimination in cultures.
  • In 1970 she organized a nationwide women's strike so she could lift awareness to unfair issue of labour in both domestic and commercial settings. About 50,000 women matted in New York City during the women's strike for equality.They were waving signs and communicating their big disappointment.
  • Friedan also fought for the rights of abortion. In 1969 she founded the National Association for the revoke of abortion laws, to fight for the rights of abortions. she craves that women play a big part in the political action.
  • After she married Carl Friedan in 1947,Friedan took a job at UE news. He got a new look on the harsh climate endures by women in the workforce.When Betty gave birth to her first kid, she got permission to take maternity leave for a year. Her second time getting pregnant, she didn't get a leave, she just got fired. Cause her employees expected that she would keep asking for time off.
  • Betty Friedan was a American feminist writer and fighter. She was born February 4, 1921 in Peoria. She died February 4, 2006 in Washington, due to a congestive heart failure. Her Parents were Miriam Horwitz Goldstein , and Harry Goldstein. Betty and Carl Friedan had 3 kids together, Daniel Friedan, Emily Friedan, and Jonathan Friedan.
