The Cask of Amontillado POV's

Testo Storyboard

  • Montresor POV(before encountering Fortunato)
  • "The Thousand injuries of Fortunato I had borne as I best could; but when he ventured upon insult, I vowed revenge."
  • Fortunato's POV
  • "My dear Fortunato, you are luckily met... I have received a pipe of what passes for Amontillado."
  • "How?" said he, Amontillado? A pipe? Impossible."
  • Differences and Similarities between Montresor's POV and Fortunato's POV
  • This quote tells us that Montresor's point of view is vague and vile. He doesn't tell us why he wants revenge on Fortunato, but he insists that the revenge must be drastic.
  • From this scene, you can tell that Fortunato is surprised from Montresor's words speaking about an amontillado he has. This leads us to conclude that Fortunato point of view is his interest in the Amontillado. Now we know, All he wants is the Amontillado.
  • Montresor's point of view was mean and Fortunato's point of view are very different, for instance, Montresor wanted Fortunato dead, and Montresor wanted the Amontillado. But there point of views both are focused on one objective. Death and wine
