As Baba gets sick Amir asks one last thing of him: to ask General Taheri's for his daughter Soraya's hand in marriage

After marrying Soraya, Amir and Soraya look after Baba as his health declines. One night Baba says he doesn't want his medication. This night turned out to be his last; the last time Amir sees his father before he passes away in his sleep.

As Amir and Soraya get married they start trying to have kids with no success. Eventually they go to see Dr. Rosen who tells them they csn't have children. Over time this reality effects their marriage.
