- This is a form of person vs nature. Brain had been woken up to a skunk in his shelter stealing his eggs. At first Brian thought the skunk was cute but then realized he was losing his food. He picked up sand and threw it at the skunk. The skunk then sprayed Brian in the face. This is person vs nature because the skunk is part of nature and Brian had conflict with it.
- Why did I think it was cute, and why did I throw sand at it.

- This is a form of person vs self. Brian wanted to end his life after the plane coming to look for him passed over him and didn't find him. This is person vs self because Brian had really bad feelings and tried to end his life by cutting himself.
- I just want to end it the plane didn't see me there is no use.

- I ate way to many of those...those... gut cherries!
- This is a form of person vs self. Brian had eaten too many "gut cherries" and was throwing them all up. This is person vs self because Brian made a bad decision eating too many cherries and was paying for it by puking them up.
