I was sitting at home near the end of summer feeling bad about myself and checking my phone when suddenly.
Hey, a text! wonder who it's from.
It was my friend, who needed people to join the JV soccer team, and asked me even though I had not played in 2 in a half years. I reluctantly agreed and went with my parents to shop for soccer gear.
Can u join the soccer team we have no players

I immediatelygot into my own head, like usual, and doubted myself and my abilities.
What if Imess up, or own goal, or aren't good enough to play?
I had no confidence in myself, and it showed, as at first, I made fun of myself in front of my teammates, and again doubted my abilities.
I haven't played in a while so I'll probably be trash.This will go great!
Then Istarted actually playing, and barely missed a step. I played great defense and realized I never shouldhave doubted myself. If anything I would have played better if I hade more confidence in myself
It gave me a lot more confidence in my abilities, which I really needed, and proved to me if I put my mind to it, I could do anything. It was an eye-opener for me, as I was always being rude about myself, and this showed I was a lot more than what I told myself I was.
