- Marlin doesn't actually refuse the call but he is scared of what lurks in the deep dark ocean but he goes anyway. Marlin is a very brave dad.
- Meeting the Mentor
- When life gets you down, just keep swimming. Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming. What do we do? We swim, swim.”
- On Nemo's first day of school he didn't listen to his father and ended up being court by scooba divers whilst Marlin was watching this happen, knowing he couldn't stop it.
- Tests, Allies, Enemies
- Marlin and Nemo are two ordinary fish that live in the beautiful but dangerous, Great Barrier Reef. Marlin was a very overprotective father to Nemo and Nemo's mother was killed in a barracuda attack.
- Crossing the Threshold
- What's that Dory?
- As Marlin is chasing after the boat that took Nemo, he runs into another fish named Dory. Dory is quite forgetful but she helps him come to terms with loosing Nemo.
- Marlin and Dory go through many adventures together including escaping from a vegetarian shark, being attacked by an anglerfish, getting directions from a school of moonfish, surviving a sea of jellyfish, and receiving a helping hand from some sea turtles.
- Uh oh
- Marlin and Dory are a bit of an weird pair, but they need each other when Marlin discovers that Dory can read the address on a mask that belonged to one of the scuba divers. The address is to a dental office on the Harbour of Sydney.
- It's a mask of one of the scuba divers that took Nemo, and it has an address on it!
