Confronting The Father
When  Perseus finally got back to the island, Polydectes was horrified.  Perseus threatened to kill  Polydectes  by turning him to stone.  Polydectes thought it was a joke and started moking Perseus, teelling him that he couldn't have posibly  slayed Medusa's head.   Perseus got so mad, that he turned Polydectesn to stone.
You don't have the head.  And even if you did,  You wouldn't dare turn me into sto-...

Atonement
After killing Polydectes, Perseus wanted to find his grandfather  and forgive him for all he did.   He followed the trail for days.   Finally, when he was about to give up,  he  remembered that  he had a disk  to help him find any one.  He threw the disk trying to find his father, but that throw   killed his father instead of just finding him.
Disk, go find my grandfather so I can forgive him.
Aaaaaah!  This disk is going to kill me! Nooooooooooooooooo!
Master Of Two Worlds
Now,. having almost all of his problems solved, Perseus  wanted to  make his mother happy.   He knew that Danea loved  Polydectes's  brother,  ictys.   Thus,   he made Dictys king of the island so that his mother could be with the man she loved,  without living in fear.
