And just like that i have been scammed. I have given my personal information to a complete stranger without questioning them at all . So could i have done differently

Another thing i could have done was ask the scammer questions about the offer to get more clues about the legitimatise of the offer. In this case i would ask for proof that we share the same blood or a copy of the document which the distant aunt left behind
If this unknown person asks you for personal information take that as a clear indication that the offer is a scam so DO NOT give your information away at all
And lastly i could have disengaged with the stranger if the deal seemed a bit too good to be true and is very much unexpected . In this case i am offered a $60000 dollars which i wasnt expecting at all and was to big of a sum to just have been given out

Well first i could have stopped and thought about the small details situation before engaging. In this case it would be that I have never heard or met this 'cousin' which shows this stranger is trying to make a trust connection
