- He is Don Pancho de Mendoza, an unpleasant man but considered an important man in the town who plans   the marriage of his daughter Rosaura
- He is Eduardo a provincial who has studied in Quito,   the eternal love of Rosaura, who will be willing to   fight for his love
- Don Pancho along with the priest, seek to marry   Rosaura with Don Anselmo de Aguirre who is characterized by having great wealth
- Rosaura declares herself emancipated, both from the   father and the husband. He then escapes, pistol in   hand with unknown direction
- Rosaura lives a disorderly existence, focused on revenge against her father. unfortunately in the first days of October Rosaura dies
- The authorities discover countless letters in which Rosaura recounts her sad life. Eduardo decides to visit her, encountering the terrible news and a tragic farewell
