BACKGROUND INFORMATIONKeefe runs away to the Forbidden Cities, because he needs time to control his new abilities without hurting anyone. He leaves a note to Sophie before he leaves. He has a terrible relationship with his father, and his mother is the leader of the Neverseen. Keefe stole a pathfinder from his dad that will take him to the lost cities. It has over one hundred faucets, and Keefe didn't take the map.
I don't need you help-or your concern. I'm doing just fine on my own.

Keefe lightleaps to his father's house to get the map of the pathfinder. His dad is waiting there for him. Keefe doesn't want his help, but his dad provides him with a map, ID, and information book.

Keefe sees Alvar in the library, and he starts to follow Alvar. Keefe takes Alvar to a deserted island to talk. Alvar is supposed to be dead, and he was a member of the Neverseen, so Keefe doesn't like him very much.

Sophie is enhancing Tam so he can take a shadow tracker out of Keefe's heart. This tracker was put there by the Neverseen. Dex, Tam, and Sophie just found Sophie in the Forbidden Cities, and want to take him home.
