- My Favorite Chaperone with plot .
- Rising action :
- When Maya is doing Gymnastics, she gets called into the office saying that something was wrong. She just moved into the United States, she was in Kazakhstan before.
- Climax :
- When Maya went into the office, she finds her brother getting yelled at by the principal. She has to communicate with the principle and tried to lower the amount of punishment that his brother would get. Narzhan got into a fight with another person and got suspended for 2 days.
- Falling action :
- One of Maya's friends/crush named Daniel. He picks up Maya and starts lifting her and spinning her around. Before she knew it, she saw her father angry yelling at her telling her to get into the car. This is because in Kazakhstan, it is very dishonourable and shameful to do such an act.
- Resolution :
- Nurzhan hears about how Maya wanted to go to the school dance. Maya couldn't go because she didn't get permission from her parents. So Nurzhan asks his parents because he knows that they like him more than they like Maya. Nurzhan gets permissions, but if Maya goes to the dance then Nurzhan has to become Maya's chaperone for that day.
- The day before Maya goes to the dance, she receives a golden bracelet from her mother. This golden bracelet is supposed to be given at a later age, but her mother still gave it to her because she now knows that things in the United States is very different from Kazakhstan.
- Maya goes to the dance and starts dancing with her crush Daniel. Since having her little brother be a chaperone would be embarrassing, Nurzhan told Maya to say that she is babysitting him. While dancing, Maya does not see Nurzhan until she goes back home. When she asks where he went, Nurzhan responds with that he went to the washroom so that he would not bother her when she was dancing.
