The Ice Age was a chilly period where the Earth's climate repeatedly changed between very cold periods.

The teacher made it out to be a tiny atom dropped by the Enola Gay when in reality, it was a devastating and horrifying bomb that scarred Japan. 
The way the teacher described the Ice Age,  just made it out to be a chilly period just like any other, almost like any other winter today.  
The way the history teacher described it, made the War of the Roses look more like a friendly fight over flowers that took place in a local garden.
