I am Richard Henry Lee an Anti-Federalist and i think the Constitution will trample upon our rights and give power to a minority of people while opressing the majority.
I am Alexander Hamilton a Federalist i believe we must ratify the constitution as it will insure the rights of our people.
The constitution seeks to limit the National Governments power so it shouldn't trample on state or individual rights, also the separation of powers would limit the power of even majorities.
But what of taxes a National Government would seek to raise our tax burden.
A National Government could regulate large states with urban centers along with small states with weak economys. States agree that a strong government would protect their intrest
But the constitution weakens the states in order to ensure that the national government will not trample upon our rights we require a national bill of rights to ensure they aren't trampled on
'Through trustworthy leaders How does that sucure my rights, such as freedom of press and of religon, what of unreasonable searches of my home, or trial by jury what if they seek to abuse the powers of the government
The Constitution requires no bill of rights as it limits the National Governments power and give the people rights through trustworthy leaders
A bill of rights would be better than hoping those in power will uphold their agreements. What if people in power seek to abuse our system for their own gain a bill of rights would make sure that it wouldn't be hampering upon the rights of others
I'll give the people a bill of rights if thats what is required to ratify the constitution as it is the overwhelming desire of the people
