The Goddess of Discord Eris was offended after not being invited to a wedding along all the other gods and goddesses. In return she rolled a golden apple into the gathering and addressed it to the fairest.
I'm taking your queen to be my wife!!
Three goddesses; Aphrodite, Hera, and Athena all claimed the apple as their own. The three goddesses offered a present to Paris, the impartial judge of who receives the apple.
Paris chose to take Aphrodite's offer of the most beautiful woman in the world, Helen, as his wife in trade for the golden apple.
For Sparta!!!
Paris then abducted Helen from Sparta and brought her back to Troy to be his wife.
Sparta was not going to give up Helen so after many fails of getting her back they filled the Trojan Horse full of warriors and gave it to Troy as a gift.
During the night the Spartan warriors snuck out of the Trojan Horse and defeated Troy, taking Helen back home to Sparta.
