  • When my alarm sounds in my ear, it is converted into an electrical signal. This signal travels to the brainstem and then to the temporal lobe
  • The temporal lobe will process the sound as an electrical signal and recognise that it is an alarm and time to wake up

  • Sensory information travels to the brain from the mouth, which triggers signals to the muscles to execute a swallow.
  • While eating, the cerebellum helps with the finer movements, like chewing, and coordinates the muscles in the mouth and throat to swallow the food.
  • The occipital lobe processes the visual input from the eyes, so you can see what foods look good. Today it was a burger, fries, and an apple

  • The frontal lobe tells my body to move while the Cerebellum coordinates the muscle movements.
  • Finally, the Parietal lobe understands the spatial distance between my feet and the ground, ensuring that I don't stomp down too hard or misjudge the space and trip.

  • The Cerebellum also helps with balance, ensuring that I don't fall over while putting one foot in front of the other
