In chapter 4, Curley accuses Slim of crossing the line with his wife. He then gets in a fight with Lennie, who crushes his hand. A quote that represents chapter 4 is 'Crooks' face lighted with pleasure in his torture' and "An' what am i doing'? Standin' here talkin' to a bunch of bindle stiffs ... an' likin' it because they ain't nobody else."
In chapter 5, every Saturday nights, most of the hands visit a whorehouse, where those who stay behind are called weak and threatened by Curley's wife. A quote that reflects this chapter is ‘her words tumbled out in a passion of communication … before her listener could be taken away", which is found on pg. 5.
An important quote we found on chapter 6 was from out of Lennie's head there came a little fat old woman' (This is aunt clara from his imagination which shows his worst fears as she says how Lennie is a burden to George).
In chapter 6, Lennie pets a puppy to death, Curley's wife shows up and offers him her hair. Lennie isn't careful at all, and gets a little too excited, and so accidentally kills her. He runs off.
Lennie was given a puppy by Slim and is in the barn tending it. Curley’s wife enters and they begin to talk. Without realizing it, Lennie grabs her hair, because he likes soft things. When she gets nervous and tells him to stop, he panics and breaks her neck.
