  • We have lost Best half of our affair.
  • Well, let's away, and say howmuch is done.
  • Act 3
  • There's but one down; the son is fled.
  • After Macbeth found out that the murderers were unable to kill Fleance he began to worry. Due to the murder of Banquo, Macbeth began imagining Banquo's ghost and went crazy at his feast. Everyone was really worried and concerned for him. Because of the freakout Macbeth had, Lady Macbeth had to end the feast early.
  • I pray you, speak not; he grows worse and worse. Question enrages him. At once, good night. Stand not upon the order of your going, But go at once.
  • Prithee, see there, behold, look, lo, how say you? [To Banquo’s ghost] Why, what care I if thou canst nod, speak too. If charnel-houses and our graves must send Those that we bury back, our monuments Shall be the maws of kites.
  • After the feast ended all he was worried about was meeting the witches and figuring out where Macduff is.
  • Hecate, the goddess of witches has figured out what the three witches has told Macbeth, because she believes that they have been too nice to him. She makes sure to tell the first witch that she lets the other witches know to tell Macbeth everything he wants to know.
  • Why, how now, Hecate? Youlook angry.
  • And, which is worse, all you have done Hath been but for a wayward son, Spiteful and wrathful, who, as others do, Loves for his own ends, not for you. But make amends now; get you gone, And at the pit of Acheron Meet me i' the morning. Thither he Will come to know his destiny. Your vessels and your spells provide, Your charms and every thing beside.
  • Have I not reason, beldams as you are, Saucy and overbold? How did you dare To trade and traffic with Macbeth In riddles and affairs of death;
  • Then later in Act 3, Lennox and the Lord are talking about how Lennox is suspicious of Macbeth. They also speak about how Macduff has fled to England and is planning a war against Macbeth with Malcolm.
  • Act 4
  • Macbeth, Macbeth, Macbeth, beware Macduff; Beware the Thane of Fife. Dismiss me, enough.
  • Be bloody, bold, and resolute. Laugh to scorn The power of man, for none of woman born Shall harm Macbeth.
  • Macbeth finally meets with the three witches. During his visit, the witches told him all the prophecies. The prophecies were told by apparitions that were summoned by the witches, they told him to keep an eye out for Macbeth, he won't be defeated by anyone woman born, and how he will not be conquered until Birnam Woods marches to Dunsinane.
  • After the apparitions left, the witches. showed him a long line of Banquo's descendants, which freaked Macbeth out. After the meeting with the witches, Lennox tells Macbeth how Macduff has fled to England. Macbeth sees it as a perfect to go attack Macduff's family.
  • Be lion-mettled, proud; and take no care Who chafes, who frets, or where conspirers are. Macbeth shall never vanquished be, until Great Birnam wood to high Dunsinane hill Shall come against him.
  • Meanwhile, in the Macduff household, Lady Macduff is wondering where Macduff since he has practically disappeared. Lady Macduff was upset since Macduff has left his family in a dangerous time. Ross was trying to reassure Lady Macduff that he is doing it for a purpose and not to just leave his family.
  • He has killed me, mother. Run away, I pray you.
  • Then after Ross left, the murderers that Macbeth hired arrived and killed Lady Macduff and her children.
  • Macduff has met up with Malcolm in England in order to join forces with him in order to fight Macbeth. Malcolm was suspicious of Macduff, so he proves himself by Macduff being against as to how Malcolm was acting. After proving his loyalty, Macduff and Malcolm join up with ten thousand troops to go fight Macbeth.
  • O, I could play the woman with mine eyes And braggart with my tongue. But, gentle heavens, Cut short all intermission. Front to front Bring thou this fiend of Scotland and myself. Within my sword's length set him. If he 'scape, Heaven forgive him too.
  • This tune goes manly. Come, go we to the king; our power is ready; Our lack is nothing but our leave. Macbeth Is ripe for shaking, and the powers above Put on their instruments. Receive what cheer you may; The night is long that never finds the day.
  • Then Ross arrives, and tells Macduff the news about the death of his family and that if they go to Scotland, there will be plenty of people ready to fight Macbeth. Macduff, wanting revenge, vows that he will return to Scotland and kill Macbeth himself.
