- In the text, Kennedy is shown to be good at leaving and bad at staying in one place or with somebody. Bennett writes, "She would leave him. She’d always had a good sense for when it was time to leave...Leaving was the same, regardless. Leaving was simple. Staying was the part she’d never quite mastered" (Bennett 333-334). Her not being bad at staying in one place and leaving shows the pressures and the effects of her past choices and acting career. Since acting is fast paced and travel heavy, her being able to stay in one place is hard.
- Years later while grinding in her acting field, she finally got a consistent role. Bennett writes, "... a month after she turned twenty-seven she would finally land a three-season arc on Pacific Cove. It would be her longest acting job ever," (Bennett 297). Her love for acting despite knowing that it is a struggling field shows how much she cares and is determined about it. Her being able to land a role as an example of her hard work.

- After accepting that her career in acting is over, she goes to realty school and becomes a realtor. Bennett writes, "On her first day,she sat awkwardly at the tiny desk, storing at the handout the teacher was passing down each row. What Clients Value in a Real Estate Agent:Honesty, Knowledge of the housing morket, Negotiation skills. She could learn most of this, she told herself, except for the first bullet point" (Bennett 337). Her seeing honesty as a problem shows how insincere her character is and consequences of being an actress. Kennedy's acting career over the years ruined her ability to be truthful to others because of how many times she has to become someone new and change character.
