Georg: “Agreed. Let’s mark it today, Ulrich, so when they ask who ended the feud, they’ll know it was us—and that it ends for good.”

The men begin working frantically, breaking off loose branches and dragging them into a makeshift barrier as the wolves’ snarls draw closer. The sound of paws on the snow sends chills down their spines, but they keep moving.)
Georg: (understanding, nodding) “A barrier. We pile the branches in front of us and hope the wolves hesitate.”
Ulrich: (grinning faintly) “Perhaps that’s what the forest wanted all along.”
(The men are led away, their rescuers unaware of the momentous truce that has been forged beneath the broken branches of the forest. The wolves watch from the shadows, their hunt abandoned for the night.)
