My name is Sophie Scholl. I'm ashamed to admit that I once supported the Nazis.
Let's start today's meeting with a discussion about the books we read last week...
What a great read! Romanticism at its finest!
My siblings and I, with some friends, gathered to discuss literature and music, often on German romanticism, which we thought the Nazis liked. We were wrong. Some of my siblings were arrested, and that was when I saw the regime for what it was: a suppressor of freiheit, or freedom.

Once I saw the truth, I needed to act. My brother Hans and I, along with some of our university friends, passed out thousands of pamphlets. Together, we became the White Rose, a group of students who tried to change our country with our words. But it was this act that got us caught.
Down with the regime! ACT NOW!!

Though I knew my end, I could not regret our situation. I had hopes and dreams, fears and worries, but I did not have my freedom. I could only hope that my actions made a difference in the war, and that, through my words, thousands of young students like me could have the most important thing —
FREIHEIT.
