- This scene depicts when Mr and Mrs Johnston meet at the club and start dancing, in this scene Mrs Johnston is compared to Marylin Monroe which foreshadows her tragic story
- I have a job and two more kids on the way but I'm still in debt
- After Mr ans Mrs Johnston meet they have seven children together including the character Sammy who plays an important role in the musical

- After Mr and Mrs Johnston have their children Mr Johnston leaves Mrs Johnston after she is older and isn't as attractive anymore
- Swear on the bible that you will give me one of your children

- A few years after Mr Johnston has left her Mrs Johnston has found a job working for Ms Lyons to pay off her debt to the shops so she can support her children with two more on the way
- As Ms Lyons cannot have any children of her own Ms Lyons offers Ms Johnston £1000 so she is able to support her children in exchange for one of her unborn twins
- After some consideration Mrs Johnston agrees to swear on the bible that she will give one of her twins to Ms Lyons without telling anyone else that their deal occured
