- Strong winds blew Odysseus's strip off course and towards Polyphemus: island they unloaded and sought refuge. They came upon a cave and entered it not knowing how much trouble they had just got themselves into.#160;
- As they enter the cave, Odysseus and his men are greeted by the presence of the cyclopes Polyphemus, the cyclopes proclaim that his father brought him tasty little snacks and all the men were terrrfied Odysseus is also terrified of the monster but he cant because he had to be a leader before Odysseus knew it's two of Odysseus's men are developed by the cyclops second side.
- Odysseus had to come up with a plan quickly so that he and his man would not turn into lunch for Cyclops. His plan was as follows get him drunk, stab him with a stake, and escape after Odysseus got the Cyclopes drunk. He convinced the huge Cyclopes his name was "nobody." As the Cyclopes slept, Odysseus and his man blinded the Cyclopes with a hardened stake now all they had to do was escape from the cave undernath the belief the sheep.
- After they escaped the cave by hiding underneath the Cyclopes's sheep. Odysseus and his crew head towards the ship so that they can leave the island.
- As the men are fleeing, Odysseus decides to taunt the Cyclopes. By doing this Odysseus and his men are in danger. However, the Cyclopes throw boulders at the ship to kill them because of Odysseus' taunt. Polyphemus prays to his father, Poseidon to make sure that Odysseus suffers as he tries to go home.
