Ch.5 Task The Vanishing Half Story Board (Aliayah Scott)

- On there way in to town Desiree and Jude are spotted by Lou who goes back to the diner and says, "'Blue black,'he said. 'Like she flown direct from Africa'" (Bennett 1). This shows how people see her and what she may look like.
- Jude wants to help Reese with paying for his surgery and counts the money he has. She says, "She'd done the math... Two hundred dollars. He would never save enough by himself. 'I need a new job'" (Bennett 127). This shows how she took action by  helping him save up money but without his knowing. 
-  Jude has tagged a long with Reese as he goes and takes pictures of abandoned buildings and he compliments Jude. Reese thinks to herself, “She hated to be called beautiful. It was the type of thing people only said because they felt they ought to” (Bennett 107). This shows how she feels about herself because she has been made fun of because she lived in a colorist town. 
- How does the character look?
- Jude has graduated from college and is working at a restaurant and the owner reminisces about how she use to study with a teammates textbook. He said, "Maybe he respect her eagerness to find a job barely a week after her college graduation...Or maybe he just remembered her from the past spring, always sitting at a high top studying" (Bennett 205). This shows how she is a hard worker by finding a job right out of college when she could be lounging about and how hoard she has studied. 
- What actions do they take?
- Jude talks about what she loves to do because she doesn't have any friends. She says, "She ran because she loved it...because her father had run himself...when she laced up her cleats, she thought about him" (Bennett 89). This shows how she connects her love for her father to the thing that she loves to do the most which is running. 
- As Jude is going off to college she explains that she won  at a state championship. "She won the gold medal in the 400 meters at the state championship" (Bennett 84).  She does this well because this is what is getting her into college for free because recruiters were looking at her at this championship and offered her full rides.
