Oh, I don't mind at all! I have an idea! I'll use soccer as an example to let you have a better understanding about the Quantum!
Hey Mya! Thanks for coming over to play soccer with me today!
Hey Charles! Thanks for inviting me over to play..but I actually really need help understanding the Quantum. Doyou mind helping me?
So we're going to represent energy! And the soccer ball will represent the electron in an atom!
Basically, energy levels are the levels the electrons are on. The higher the energy levels are, the more energy they have. The ground is going to be the atom, while the ball is the electron. The higher the ball goes, the higher the energy level goes!
Right now the soccer ball is on its first energy level, so it has a normal amount of energy. This is known as the ground state!
Now since I kicked the ball up in the ai, the ball is in its excited state! Now it's on its third level of energy. This is called the excited state because the soccer ball, in this case the electron, gained energy and moved up levels!
Wow! I see!
Now the soccer ball is back on its first energy level. This is called light emission because the electron lost energy and went down on energy levels!
