- I am using the denial defense mechanism after being waitlisted from my number 1 choice college. So I am refusing to recognize their choice in order to protect myself from the fact that I am not enough despite trying my hardest :(.

- In order to "win my battle in feeling superior to others", I have brought my Rubik's cubes to school to show off how smart I am since there is a significant chance that other cannot solve them faster than me. This is likely true because it is a niche activity and I would consider myself somewhat talented in the solving of them. So I impress people with my skills in order to feel superior and thus, worthwhile."
