- I'm glad you asked! Phytoplankton are the primary producers of the ocean and they give food to all the animals in the ocean. If I add iron to the ocean, this means more phytoplankton and more fishes. Phytoplankton also helps wit the reduction of Global Warming because they take majority of the Carbon Dioxide to the ocean, so we NEED to save them.
