- Martin Luther was born on the 10th of November 1483. He lived in Eisleban Germany, and was trained in music theory. He was one of the most influential figures in western history. Martin Luther was also the first Reformer in the World.

- Martin Luther could see that the catholic church was selling indulgences that were fake to the people. the church told the people that is they buy an indulgence that all their sins past, present and future would be forgiven. The Catholic Church did this so they can get more money for themselves.

- The Catholic Church Responded by labelling Martin Luther a heretic, forbidding the reading or publication of his 95 thesis, and threatening him with excommunication.In January 1521, Pope Leo X excommunicated Martin Luther. Then three months later Martin Luther was called to defend his beliefs before holy Roman Emperor Charles V at the Diet of Worms.
- Martin Luthers beliefs helped birth the reformation which gave the rise to protestantism. His 95 Theses sparked a religious movement to reform the Catholic Church. His central teachings, that the Bible is the centre source of religious authority and that salvation is reached through faith and not deeds.
