- While on a school excursion to the museum looking at ancient Greek Gods, Percy’s teacher becomes a ‘fury’ and accuses Percy of stealing the lightning bolt. Percy has no idea what has just happened.

- Grover is Percy’s guide, mentor and protector. He shadowed Percy in the ordinary world and protected his mother also. Grover is a mythological creature, a satyr. And he welcomes Percy to Camp Half-Blood
- Percy, Annabeth and Grover bribe Charon to take them to the Underworld, to retrieve the master bolt from Hades.
- Percy is at peace with his previous anger at his father and begins to understand why his father was unable to see him or be there when he was young.Percy’s mother tells him that this is where he belongs and has finally found his place in the world.
