- Victor and Thomas Builds-The-Fire were the same age, had grown up and played in the dirt together. Ever since Victor could remember, it was Thomas who always had something to say. These kids had grown up like famliy, and they always took care of each other.
- Thomas went to the Falls because his dream told him he would have a vision, but all he found was Victor's dad. Thomas told Victor Your dad was my vision. Take care of each other is what my dreams were saying. He felt like a real part of their family, and they were all really close.
- What the hell are you doing here?
- Waiting for a vision.
- When they were 15, Victor got drunk and beat Thomas up. There was no reason behind this, but they had stopped being friends since this happened. Norma pulled Victor off and asked Thomas if he was okay. Thomas gave a thumbs up, but no stories came to him, no words or music. This must have hurt Thomas a lot, stories were his whole life.
- Just because they stopped being friends, they can still have a releationship. Until they were 15 they grew up like family, and they still have that connection between them. They can still have a relationship without being friends.
- I mean, I havent hardly talked to you in years. We're not really friends anymore.
- I didn't say we were friends.
- One thing does not define a relationship. Even though something bad happened, they still care about each other, and Thomas forgives Victor. Just because they never really talk about it they're on good terms and moved past it.
- I never told you I was sorry for beating you up that time.
- Yeah, but I'm still sorry.
- That's all right.
- Oh, it was nothing. We were just kids and you were drunk.
- They used to have a really strong connection, and even if they aren't that close anymore, they still have that connection. Thomas was like family, and he cared about Victor's father as much as Victor did. Victor knows that and still cares about Thomas so he gives Thomas his dads ashes to show that he cares.
