- Ariston was told by his manager to go home becuase he was an hour late. Ariston lives in Belhar and there was an unexpected Bus strike that morning. His manager did not even give him time to explain.
- We elect Juliet to be our Shop Steward!
- I will be honored, Thank you so much!
- Tella reminds Ariston that he is not alone, he belongs to a trade union and he has to speak to someone about this matter.
- Good morning Juliet. May I have a moment of your time, please?
- They mention the name of their elected shop steward.
- Okay. Tella please wait for me, I will speak to the manager and get back to you.
- As an elected shop steward, Juliet plays a pivotal role in the union organization. She is the main link between the members she represents and her union. As a link she has to communicate both ways, she has to inform her union of what is happening with their members and inform the members whats happening with the union.
- Ariston goes to Juliet's office and asks to speak to her. He explains to Juliet what happened, that morning, in detail. Juliet listens carefully and asks a few questions in order to understand what the problem may be.
- Juliet advises Ariston to go home, after she realizes that Ariston has failed to comply with some office policies. Ariston has been never late before, but he has not been given a warning. Juliet promises Ariston that she will speak with the manager and get back to him.
