Hi! Im Sammy and today we'll be talking about the Nitrogen Cycle! You'll be meeting some of my friends as we talking about the cycle.
Did you know, Nitrogen takes up 78% of the atmosphere?
Hi im Luna! The first step to the Nitrogen Cycle is called Nitrogen Fixation.
Nitrogen fixation is the process by which nitrogen is taken from its molecular form (N2) in the atmosphere and converted into nitrogen compounds useful for other biochemical processes.

Im Charlie! Our next stage is Nitrification
This is the process by which ammonium gets changed into nitrates by bacteria. Nitrates are what the plants can then absorb
Assimilation is the process by which plants and animals incorporate the NO3- and ammonia formed through nitrogen fixation and nitrification.
Whats Up! Im molly, the next part of the cycle is called Assimilation.
Plants take up these forms of nitrogen through their roots, and incorporate them into plant proteins and nucleic acids.

During ammonification, the plant or animal that you are a part of dies. They are left to be converted back into ammonium by decomposers (bacteria and fungi that break down dead organisms).

Lastly Denitrification is the process that converts nitrate to nitrogen gas, thus removing bioavailable nitrogen and returning it to the atmosphere.
Thats the end! Hoped you enjoyed learning about the steps of the Nitrogen cycle. :D
