- Maggie is walking to her best friend Katie's house for the 1st time on her own. Her mom drew her a map to follow. Her mom put symbols on the map to help Maggie know when she pasted places on her route.
- The map tells Maggie to walk towards the park at the corner of Cherry St and Bell Rd. When she gets to the park she checks the map to see where to go next.
- The next symbol is an ice cream cone. Maggie checks the key to see that this symbol means Dairy Mcqueen. She heads up Bell Rd to Dairy Mcqueen. She stops inside to say "hi" to her friend Stella who works there. She shows Stella the map.
- Next she needs to turn north on to Shell St and pass the bus stop. She waves to the bus driver as she passes.
- She see there is one symbol left to pass on the map before she reaches Katie's house. The school football field. When she passes it she see boys playing football.
- At last she made it to Katie's house. Katie was waiting for her at the door. She was so proud she made it to Katie's all on her own. The end.
