Barnuj Benacerraf

Baruj Benacerraf was born on October 29, 1920. His family, especially his father, managed a wealthy textile company in Venezuela. As a child he had asthma, and he moved around many times. He went to France early on, New York to get his degree, naturalized and got his medical degree in Virginia, then served in the Medical Corps.
